This policy describes the information Scentmarked processes when you browse the service, create an account, build a scent profile, save fragrances, participate in community features, or choose to receive marketing communications.

Information you provide

Scentmarked may process information such as your email address, display name, scent questionnaire choices, saved fragrances, collection status, ratings, written reviews, comparison votes, feedback and communications you send to Scentmarked.

Scent profile and personalization

Questionnaire choices and account activity may be used to generate fragrance matches and personalize discovery features. During signup, Scentmarked may temporarily preserve questionnaire choices so they can be attached to the account you create. Scentmarked also may keep limited profile-revision information to support recommendation features and account functionality.

CRM and email

Creating a member account can create or link an internal customer record containing account contact information. Account creation does not by itself mean you consent to marketing email. When you affirmatively choose marketing email, Scentmarked records that choice and may use the associated contact information for eligible campaigns. Unsubscribe and suppression information may be retained as needed to honor communication choices and prevent unwanted sends.

How information is used

Information may be used to authenticate members, provide My Marks and community features, generate personalized fragrance recommendations, maintain and secure the service, respond to requests, administer permitted communications, measure and improve features, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.

Public contributions

Community contributions such as reviews or comparison opinions may be displayed publicly with your chosen display name. Do not submit sensitive personal information in public community fields.

Service providers

Scentmarked relies on service providers for functions such as website hosting, authentication, database infrastructure and, when configured, email delivery. Those providers may process information needed to perform services for Scentmarked subject to applicable arrangements and law.

Cookies and similar technologies

Scentmarked uses technologies necessary for account, security and preference functionality. See the Cookie Policy for additional information. If non-essential analytics or advertising technologies are enabled in the future, Scentmarked will update applicable disclosures and controls as required.

Retention and security

Scentmarked retains information for periods reasonably related to operating the service, maintaining records, honoring communication choices, resolving disputes, enforcing agreements and meeting legal obligations. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and requests

You can use available Account Settings to manage account features and permanently delete your Scentmarked account. Available privacy rights can depend on your jurisdiction. See Your Privacy Choices for account, marketing and privacy-request options.

Children

Scentmarked is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law. If you believe a child has provided personal information improperly, use the Contact page.

Changes

Scentmarked may update this policy as the service changes. The date above identifies the current posted version.
